Birmingham School of Art
During my MA at Birmingham City University I have had many opportunities to exhibit my work throughout the School of Art. This blog features my work in Birmingham School of Art, a listed Neo-gothic building. Due to the status of the building curation is a more challenging but rewarding task.
βThe cheeks on that one.β Is an oil painting on a repurposed canvas (featured in my 2023 portfolio). At 145 x 168.5cm the large piece needs an even larger extravigant space to contain it. The foyer was the perfect space for such a dominating piece. Displayed on the central back wall, a space previously habituated by a Mali Morris banner, created an exciting focal point of the show.
An integral part of my process as an artist is to see my work outside of the studio; experimenting with curation using other pieces of work some of which are experiments allows me to develop my practice.
